Saw on BBC news tonight, 4 men attacked 2 gay women and apparently have been arrested. Nothing much to say except aren't they brave ? The words I would like to use are not printable !!

It's no good moaning because we are not living in the 'good old days', things have changed a few for the worse but the vast majority for the better, and it doesn't alter the fact that we don't want our armed forces stocked with violent criminals however happy you would be to beat them into alleged submission.
//Calico, that would require a certain amount of discipline on the part of the teaching staff but their hands are tied by the idiocy of PC.//
Erm, no it wouldn't. My point is that kids are hot housed into being 'successful' academically, they are over stressed to get good exam results, and forced to do ridiculous amounts of homework. Absurd regulations about uniform and hairstyle are imposed, underlining the fact that it's not okay to be different, so we have a lot of angry, frustrated kids who are indoctrinated to think everyone has to be the same as they are- this carries over to society as a whole, thus, especially if they are made to feel like failures by being academically unsuccessful, they find it personally acceptable to vent those frustrations on anyone they perceive to be not like them, so their targets are people of differing ethnicities, sexuality, gender identities, age groups etc. They will also seek to find groups where they feel they belong and are accepted so gang membership becomes an issue.
what we need is for kids to be encouraged to be different, stressed less, allowed to play and be children, taught that even if they aren't a great mathematician they might be the kindest person in the class and that is equally valuable. Teachers can't do this because they are hogtied by OFTED/ NC rollux.
I bet there are not many kids from Montessori schools / Ed Otherwise join gangs or commit violent crimes, it'd be interesting to see.
