So we are destined to suffer this utter buffoon in Downing Street just to keep the Tory Party together and in power. God help us all .....and they think it is democratic????

There are two or three rounds of voting to go, so it might not be the foregone conclusion it appears now. And Boris is only ever 5 minutes from an embarrassing gaffe, so it could all go pear shaped very quickly. It is scary that someone so obviously unsuitable is the front runner to lead a scary and unsuitable Government.

One puts up with side issues if the major stumbling block for the nation is going to get sorted.

Mrs B and myself have 6 Rentals between us so no worries ;o)
I have to agree, Boris is certainly no fool.

If you notice, he is slowly but surely dialing down the 'clown' image - check out the hair cut and weight loss for example.

If he does as good a job as PM as he did as London Mayor, I think we will be OK.

Yes, just how do we remove the Speaker? ;-)
As I said Baldric
''Lucky You''
However, I know many OAP's without your business acumen, who have nevertheless gone through hardship to keep this country afloat. Guess you are different though. (you never fail to tell us how you have killed people and now enjoy a Ménage à trois)

Just out of curiosity when did I last mention either of those facts?
I'm sure the Squeaker indicated at one point that he was going to stand down this summer. Let's hope he keeps his word.
//Just out of curiosity when did I last mention either of those facts? //
LOL fair play Baldric, maybe not for a while but mention them you have!
I've never heard balders mention either of those things.
Nailit//taking free TV licenses from OAP's?//
I wasn't aware that Boris worked for the BBC who are the people responsible for the free TV licences.
Boris.. ah yes. Boris. Good man, or is he? He seems harmless, but is he?

Not the worst person for the job. I can guarantee that.
What price for a Margaret Thatcher at this moment in time?

What price for a Tony Blair at this moment?

With either as PM in the last couple of years, i doubt British politics would be in such a mess and Brexit would have been done and dusted.
"What price for a Tony Blair at this moment? "

I'll give you my lifes worth to keep him OUT!
Sqad,you mean Bliar the warmonger?
Conservatives cheered when Corbyn was elected.
I suspect the Opposite will be cheering just as loudly when Boris is crowned.
* Opposition will be cheering *
Bear in mind that the MPs who voted for the losers get another vote in later rounds. 199 voted against Boris and it will not take too many of them voting for his opponents to put him out of the running.

Can't post long answers as I am away at present and using a proxy tablet thingy.
//I suspect the Opposite will be cheering just as loudly when Boris is crowned//

I don't think Labour have a great deal to cheer about at the moment Gromit.

Who needs Boris when Labour keep defeating themselves?

I doubt all those whose preferred candidate has failed will be looking for another remainer candidate. Furthermore, unless supporters abandon Boris he's a shoo in for the last pair vote of all members.

What price for a Tony Blair at this moment? B all.
What price for a Margaret Thatcher at this moment in time? Well in fairness, the only thing she seemed ok at was standing up to the EU, but one would be loathe to offer her a PM job ever again, not having experienced it once. But Nigel Farage is available !
This is one of the rare occasions that I have to disagree with NJ. Boris got 114 votes. I can't see him losing any of them; he can only increase his tally. He will be in the last two, and that's a racing certainty.
