I wonder what insults have been been made public and directed towards Putin by our Ambassador in Russia?
Oh, and another point about your utter rot about the US government and its officials/ambassadors/representatives never criticising the UK government. When the President says that our Prime Minister "...she went her own foolish way... what a mess she [has] created!", isn't that calling our administration inept and useless -- and in public too?

The hypocrisy here is unreal. At least Sir Kim had the decency to respect the importance of privacy, up until some contemptible moron leaked his private communications.
// I wonder what insults have been been made public and directed towards Putin by our Ambassador in Russia? ... //

None. None towards him, at any rate. Which is the entire point.
'I wonder what insults have been been made public and directed towards Putin by our Ambassador in Russia?'

Probably plenty of insults but the diplomatic system has prevented them from becoming public. As it should.

/// And it is certainly important that *we* choose *our* ambassadors to foreign countries, not for them to choose for us. ///

There's not been any suggestion that the US (or any other foreign country if it come to that) wants to choose their own UK Ambassadors.
Trump has actually done his best unwittingly to overshadow the leak by his outrageous and petulant outbursts.
Had indeed the Obama administration been the subject of such a leak their response I think you can guess would have been diplomatic silence. Trump’s response is more typical of an enemy state than an ally.
This sadly is what happens when you have a president like that: I’ve seen the word “egregious” used and it’s very fitting. “Egregious” assessments result, they lead to “egregious” responses, and so it goes on.

you dear sweet pregnant wombat ( see the Memorandum by Vaclac Havel, the one with Warren Mitchell as Thumb)(*)

or else I would have

Boris throws Brit Ambassador under bus, to save himself.....
PM Boris must DIIIEEEE!
o god someone will take that as a deaf fret.

disgusting behaviour - truly awful
how many year we gonna get Bo Jo - gawd help us all as Nigh says so awffen
Trump, yesterday: "The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with...". Followed by refusing to see him. Sir Kim Darroch, today, resigns. There's a connection between the two. Note in particular the use of the word "foisted".
// There's not been any suggestion that the US (or any other foreign country if it come to that) wants to choose their own UK Ambassadors.//

yeah no sorry
trup has made it clear he wants Farage
The ambassaor’s comments were not “insults” actually. An insult is when you are rude publicly to someone on purpose. Those were admittedly hard hitting confidential assessments which I doubt anyone in the British government was shocked to receive.
agreed - - foisted
something like that would 'do' him in court

Trump said Darroch was 'done'
I would have said - - 'has been done'

done apparently means - his career is over
has been done - means - thrown under a bus

Like Nigh, I would say there is a difference
Oh well, back to the drawing board, maybe find a yes man/woman to fill the post .
That wont happen as that's not what the role is about.
// I wonder what insults have been been made public and directed towards Putin by our Ambassador in Russia?//

none -

it is like the slings and insults you say you have to put up with on a daily basis from ME without complaint or cavill ! they arent insults, they're true !
Gor - yeah Breaking news ( again ) spoiler

Mr trump announced on the resignation of Sir Kim Darroch -
" Sir Kim wipe-my-ass - good riddance - he is a jerk. But I am pleased to announce that applications for the next UK ambassady to Washington are now open at the usual state department address. The minimum requirement is woman and over eighteen - any gussets should have handles for easy grabbing in the dark, and over developed sense of saying - yes mr president no matter what or what about"
LOL.

you dear sweet pregnant wombat ///

Once again this protected AB law breaker is continuously allowed to flount AB rules, and once again is completely overlooked by the powers that be, who continue to tell other not to break the rules.

If they are not aware of them themselves, here they are yet again for reference.

/// We understand that debates get heated, but personal attacks and abusive language will not be tolerated. ///
I thought it was quite affectionate. What's wrong with a pregnant Wombat? Quite endearing.
So didn’t the leaker have an ulterior motive. Looking for a job promotion, maybe.
If that were his aim, then he was a cretin.
