Different countries are in difference situations and so find different strategies and priorities. One tries not to sort out problems with everyone at the same time.

Thing to remember is that dear Donald is only going to be heading up our ally nation for a while, whereas the EU will probably be there wanting to run Europe (including us) as a single nation for longer; and so the issue of getting out of their clutches has to be tackled now that the opportunity has arisen. Google tax issues should have been sorted ages ago, but now can wait.
