In honour of our dear old comrade, Mikey. Can I just point out his words (as an ardent Labour supporter) from 2015:

'Anybody who underestimates Boris is making a very serious error of judgement. He is highly intelligent and highly educated. Behind all that clowning act, and its an act, never forget, there is a very ambitious and capable politician, who WILL lead the Tory Party at some time in the future.'
I agree with you jordy. A few years ago, the thought of Trump as POTUS and Johnson as PM seemed preposterous and dangerous.

I’m sure Johnson will get Brexit through, but at what cost to the country? He’ll be alright whatever happens so stuff the rest of us.
Also I wish the public and the media would stop referring to him as just ‘Boris’ as if he’s your mate down the pub.
I'm waiting for him to replace the gorgeous, pouting Nicola of SNP fame.
"Also I wish the public and the media would stop referring to him as just ‘Boris’ as if he’s your mate down the pub."

How about.. Johnson Jr?
mallyj //I am with you Jordyboy....Add Farage to that pair of buffoons as is suggested and sit back and wait for the handbasket [sic] to hell!!!!!//

Why do you think Johnson, Trump & Farage are "buffoons" ?

I certainly don’t underestimate Johnson’s ambition and ability to become PM.
That I’m afraid is as far as it goes. He may well deliver Brexit but if he does it won’t be via his current “plan” which has zero chance of success. How does he think a deal, even if there was one, is going to be fine by Oct 31?
I suspect he may turn out to be more pragmatic and sensible then people think, but he’s already boxed himself into an extreme position from which it’s hard to see him escaping with any credibility.
I think the 'In Power' Boris may be somewhat different to the 'Wannabe PM Boris'. He's been constrained by all the stupid TV debates and I think we'll see his true colours in a few days / weeks.
ZM 10:43, yes mikey was bang on. It seems many of the detractors have fallen for the whole buffoonery act.

Agree with Zacs post @ 1043
Boris is the man for the job.
Mikey was a very sagacious man.
The situation he inherits from his predecessor is exactly the same - with the same issues - as the one she faced.
I don’t see where he can succeed where she failed.
Somehow getting the original deal through is really his only hope they might have to call it something else and hope no one notices.
Does he really believe the EU can be bounced into a complete volte face by the threat of us just “leaving”?
He’s not that big a fool surely. And I mean that
I don't think he believes that for a minute but I do believe he has far more chutzpah than May ever had and will know what direction to point us in once we know more about the consequences.
In summary, I'd far rather face a NDB with Boris in charge than Theresa.
ich: "I don’t see where he can succeed where she failed. " You just cannot see it can you?
Boris, Boris, he's our man
If he can't Brexit no one can.

And once he has brexit, can anyone repair it?

A shame Hunt's not going to win - that would have a been a more fun rhyme ...
His 1st wife couldn't trust him. His 2nd wife couldn't trust him so why should I. I cannot stand cheaters. Wonder what his children think of him. Might be very clever but a horrible man. He should have kept his US passport and been Mayor of New York. He and Trump deserve each other.
boris will certainly be more interesting than the other boring candidate, oh i've forgotten his name already ...
Does Boris bleach his hair?
Crikey, Bakers, you're narrowing the field of acceptable candidates to virtually zero there.
