So many residences on the wrong side of the Dam

I hope the Brylcream boys make as good a job saving this Dam as their predecessors (617 Sqd)did in destroying them.
Can't help feeling there is an elderly resident in the Rhur Valley muttering ' Shadenfreude'

'even I have difficulty following it'

Now you know how we feel.
o the goyt
the reason why you southern softies cant get your braynz around what is going on on gthe Goyt ( its a river ) is that the pretty leggy Beeb hackettes dont know the difference or meaning of
dam,weir,mill race, spillway, leet

the water when teh lake is full, goes over the top of the dam ( =weir ) - althought there are unharmed spillways always at the top of the pictures. The clear side of the dam is paved and they allowed the paving to be uneven and so when there was a rush of water .....
it flipped off the paving stones and then gouged a great scar out of the filling which is earth and concrete.
This weakened the earth and concrete core of the dam built 1831
There was never a hole in the dam as in the little dutch boy er fable - that really would have got me running for the hills ...

I tend to think a dam busters bomb wouldnt have done anything
(old construction and not deep enough)
that should have been - "so off the wall, but still with the usual decoration of possy stupid little remarks which are a constant feature of AB"

if they werent there: I am certain I would wonder where they had gone
