Should She Be Sacked?
Khafi Kareem ,a Met police officer asked for leave to go to Nigeria ( to take part in their version of Big Brither ) her request was turned down but she went anyway, whilst there she had sex with another housemate live on TV
My opinion, Yes she should be sacked,if you ask your employer for time off and you take it anyway , isn't that gross misconduct ?

Yes, I do, actually. My parents were *both* Police Officers and when you join you accept that being a Police Officer is pretty much a 24/7/365 occupation.

5.You must not conduct yourself in a manner which could reasonably be regarded as bringing your office or authority into disrepute.
6.You - a.must not use or attempt to use your position as a member improperly to confer on or secure for yourself or any other person, an advantage or disadvantage; and
b.must, when using or authorising the use by others of the resources of the Authority - i.act in accordance with your authority's reasonable requirements;

b.your authority's monitoring officer, where that officer is acting pursuant to his or her statutory duties.
(2) You must give reasons for all decisions in accordance with any statutory requirements and any reasonable additional requirements imposed by your authority.

Bringing a company or office into disrepute is a pretty standard reason for disciplinary action pretty much across the board. It doesn`t matter what people on AB think - it's what the company or in this case the police think. Same in my company and many others - if I did what she is doing my *** would be out of the door so fast that my feet wouldn`t touch the ground.
It is up to them of course. I don't imagine anyone will think less of the Met for this, except for the way they have handled it. Nothing illegal, no disrepute and not associated with them. Obviously, some of us just won't agree on this, but I imagine (hope) the Met are more professional as employers.
I'd have thought that 6a is retro's point. If she wore her police uniform as part of the appearance then surely that's a breach right there.
It's poor judgement, in any case, on her part. Sackable? Perhaps not of itself, but now that the story's rolling it will surely be a huge distraction and strain on her ability to do the job effectively anyway.
