Well I hope the Snowflake brigade are all proud of their 'softly, softly approach that has young offenders handled with Kidd gloves, What on earth was any under 18 yr old walking around with a screwdriver on his person for,the man died from his injuries
With a falling number of persons joining the armed services, plus the lack of discipline amongst the young, the time has now come to introduce National Service once again.
If you work on the assumption that any young offender must be treated harshly on the basis that this individual has committed a murder, then surely you must treat every criminal of every age and each gender with a similarly harsh regime, since murderers are not limited to under-eighteens.
Bobbisox - // A-H consecutive Governments have been very lax in their approach to crime, else why the widespread knife crime we have now? //
I would not argue regarding the approach to crime - although I would shift the description to include absence of resources, rather than simple indifference.
As for the increase in knife crime, that can be explained entirely by the breakdown in sections of society as a whole, where the love and respect of family is replaced by the sense of belonging and identity found in joining a gang. This in turn leads to the nonsense of 'respect' which involves carrying a knife, and being willing to use it.
Youngsters go out with weapons knowing they might get into an altercation with someone else carrying a weapon. Do you think the thought of the birch will scare them?
hereIam - // Oh and ah, if you come on pontificating as you do, on my post with your usual arrogance and pompousness - I AM NOT INTERESTED !!! //
It won't be 'your' thread (I assume you mean) - merely one you have originated, and if I choose to post on it, then I will do so, and your interest or lack of it is of no concern, or indeed interest to me.
retrocop - // This resource supplied for black yoof in a predominately black area (fact) did not cut the mustard did it? //
Highlighting one tragedy does not automatically negate the excellent work done by the youth club over the many years it has been operating - unless you want to spin it to look like that.
I agree with bobbi and hereIam. Consecutive governments have been soft on crime - but one has to question the reason that some kids carry knives and become involved with less than savoury company, and others don't. Culture has much to answer for.
There is a section of society where concepts of kindness, self-respect, and respect for others are replaced by the pseudo-nurturing embrace of gang culture, and that is where the majority of knife crime comes from.
I don't spin. Only those with a mental incapacity to search google will not realise, maybe, that this is not an isolated incident in the Borough of Lambeth.Stabbings and shootings are rife.Youth Clubs haven't solved it.
No youth clubs that I know of in rural Alphington and the surrounding environs and none of the youth go round stabbing en masse.
My cousin ,in his youth, joined the family tradition of campanology like most of his peers and good grief, I just realised, in later life he has become a very traditional electrician armed with a 'screwdriver'.
Course the yoof there don't have a thirst for drugs or dealing in them.
Only under the counter 'rot gut ' scrumpy. Must make a difference Either a drug crazed killer out to get street cred points from his frenz
or a tiddly drunken youth. Different culture I suppose. Those who have two youth clubs and kill and those who don't and behave in a civilised manner.
