If one is looking for dictators, one once again needs to look towards Europe. In this case the EU. But their ability to dictate to the UK seems to be near an end thanks to our leader Boris, and his team of course.

A couple of thousand here Webbo
Who counts them? Lol
Probably a couple of hundred in Dundee, but certainly not (all) Corbyn supporters. Folk who want to live in a democracy rather than be ruled by a dictator.
I was in Covent Garden and I saw the police helicopter was up and buzzing around. Like the police haven`t got enough to do without having to police that lot..

I'm lost to the whole thing now Maggie, there's protests about protest now,

We fared very well, think the nearest one was in Canterbury.
No idea. Did owt occur ?

In any case, no point it paying attention to those who claim to want democracy defended but have approved of those ignoring it for months trying to kill it off; and on top of that complaining that Boris is actually preventing its death here by being in mourning for democracy's saviour. They need to sort out their confusion first.

Great drama locally as a broken fence spawned #stopthecoo.
Two ton pigeon ?
That would be 'stop the doo', OG.

Sorry, maggie, but that is ridiculous tosh. The losing Remainers have had since March 2017 to repeal the law that the HoC passed (to leave the EU) by five to one. They have already postponed that even twice by highly dubious tactics. Their strategy is clearly to frustrate the law that they themselves passed but none of them have the courage to introduce a bill to repeal it. Now they are moaning at the loss of just five or six days of Parliamentary time. Mr Major prorogued Parliament for three weeks prior to its dissolution in 1997 and I don't recall any accusations of tyranny being made towards him. The Remainers faux outrage is stuff and nonsense.
As I recall, Mr Major's ability to generate a frenzy was confined to the boudoir of the fragrant Edwina, otherwise he more or less progressed unnoticed.
Don't have a go at me NJ, I'm "quoting" what was on the placards I saw in Dundee. Having said that, I do want independence for Scotland but that's a different argument.
Yes and his prorogation was designed purely to prevent the House debating the "Cash for Questions" report. It was designed to protect politicians - obviously a far more noble pursuit than trying to fulfil the wishes of the electorate.

Then you should have said so maggie. Your post gave the impression that those were your thoughts.

I sincerely wish you well in your quest for an Independent Scotland (so long as it doesn't involve even more of English taxpayers' money being barrowed up the M6 every night).
Don't think we had any down here. Peaceful protests are all good, as long as they remain peaceful.
Think you need to take a closer look at the figures NJ. Will post some when I have more time.

Ooh could Newcastle be a left wing city?

You on't need to get too bogged down, maggie.

The UK as a whole currently runs an annual deficit of around £24bn (that is, it spends that amount more than it takes in taxes). Scotland (with about 8% of the population) accounts for a little over half that deficit. Public spending per head in Scotland is around £2,000 more than that in England. The Westminster government is having to borrow around £12bn per annum so that the Scots can enjoy this additional spending. You can examine the figures any way you like but the inescapable fact is that Scotland as a whole enjoys considerable financial support from English taxpayers.
