And the parents should be ashamed, in fact one such mother was just on GMTV , her dress was nearly around her thighs.
Just wear your uniform because when you eventually enter the work force, there's rules to be adhered to that you'll have to follow!

I think girls wearing trousers as part of their school uniform is a sensible idea. It's nearly impossible to enforce a skirt length - think of the outrage if girls were made to kneel down to check if the skirt touched the floor as was the practice. It would have been much more sensible if this schools head had kept gender out of the equation.

"And that's a big nit-picky Spath"
Whatever it is, it's the implication Naomi gave.. So if as she says "Where have I dictated dress code?"
I shall tell hr where she has maybe not dictated it as such, but very strongly suggested they should all wear trousers and shut up about it.
Her following comments support this.

This is nothing to do with gender neutrality as a political thing, but has obviously been done because some girls (and parents) won't respect the rule that says skirts have to be a certain length.
Fair enough, everyone wears trousers. Problem solved. Anyone unhappy with it needs to blame the people that wouldn't stick to the uniform in the first place.

// to say this is nothing to do with gender neutrality is wrong.
(if you believe the school) //
I don't believe the school. I think it's just easier for them to implement a trousers only policy than to expect teachers to try and police some skirt length rule where they have to wander around with tape measures doing spot checks.
The teachers probably refused to do it, and I don't blame them. They'd probably have had the same whinging parents calling the police on them for sexual assault or something.
