And the parents should be ashamed, in fact one such mother was just on GMTV , her dress was nearly around her thighs.
Just wear your uniform because when you eventually enter the work force, there's rules to be adhered to that you'll have to follow!

I think girls wearing trousers as part of their school uniform is a sensible idea. It's nearly impossible to enforce a skirt length - think of the outrage if girls were made to kneel down to check if the skirt touched the floor as was the practice. It would have been much more sensible if this schools head had kept gender out of the equation.

Maybe male teachers could be a bit less noncey then they might not get distracted by the sight of a very young girls knee?
N24 You've still not clarified why there safer.
" I actually said was trousers are potentially safer than short skirts .... and they are."

Not when riding a bike.. Much more likely to get a trouser leg caught in the sprocket than a skirt.

What are you on about Naomi? Do tell..

You aint banging on about health and safety are you?
I don't think it's like that, Spath! It's hard not to notice girls glamming it up. I've caught myself looking at girls thinking 'how did your mother let you out looking like that?'

Short skirts, drawn on eyebrows, fake lashes, plastered on makeup.
//Spicerack, what I actually said was trousers are potentially safer than short skirts .... and they are.//

Don't pussy foot around, go for the full on boilermakers overalls with leather inserts.
Safety for all concerned.
Don't make excuses for noncey teachers Ummmm.
Burqas would be even safer. ;-)

Anyway. Maybe I shouldn't have any say in this being a man (of sorts).
I left school too young to have any interest in short skirts and, frankly, I'm too old to have much interest now.
Spath, //What are you on about Naomi? Do tell.. //

Read my posts. I've told.

^That to teacake too.
OK, i'm telling you that you're wrong. Skirts are not dangerous.
//how did your mother let you out looking like that?//

I've thought that too Ummmm, but the midwife gave me a scary look.
You beat around so many bushes naomi i'm surprised you haven't called in a gardener to sort em out for you.

Those things left unsaid ayy.. So clear they are!! Especially over online.

Oh you sly one you.

As far as workplaces relaxing rules goes, if I'd turned up in a micro mini skirt where I've worked , I'd have been told to change , thankfully though, I wore a uniform and never kicked against doing so
spath, I didn't say they are 'dangerous'. If you want to cause a row over nothing again, try someone else.
All of these excuses about policing the length of school skirts say nothing about policing trouser styles. When I was still working the boys' uniform was strictly monitored, school trousers, not cargo pants etc, the girls were wearing spray-on 'trousers', attempts to impose the same regulation was deemed 'sexist' by the band of ism people. As ever the female of the species got away with murder, female staff dressed as they wished, more night-club or beach in some instances, the men had to wear suit/jacket, shirt and tie, even in hot summers.
Argument?

You could just say what you mean.. instead of spout nonsense about hwo your point is so clear for everyone.. yet no one knows what it is?
Bobbs. Can you name another school in the UK that as banned school skirts for girls because I can't find one, this in itself proves that the head of this school as made a wrong decision, and a silly one. What next a days course at Debenhams for trans to learn makeup skills. A knee length rule is all is needed ( if this is the real problem)? not a ban, we are trying to leave the EU for being dictated too, along with silly rules. Morning:0)
spath, I've said what I meant. Read it.
I didn't realise we were talking about micro mini skirts. I can remember the last time I seen a female wearing one.
"Spicerack, what I actually said was trousers are potentially safer than short skirts .... and they are."

Implying they're some what dangerous? If something isn't as safe, then it's more dangerous.

Are you blaming rape culture / upskirting on the skirt, rather than the abuser???

Shame shame shame shame.

You're one of those that blames a woman for what she wears aint ya.
