They have had the whole of the summer holidays to protest, or is this just another exercise brought on by their left-wing teachers?

I don't know how anyone would put an exact percentage on it. The IPCC estimates a greater than 95% probability that humans are largely or wholly responsible but I wouldn't want to suggest an exact figure of how much percentage of recent climate change is us and how much is natural. On the face of it, my best interpretation of the IPCC data is that humans are more or less wholly responsible, but that comes with uncertainties that could pull it down to 50% instead.

Thank you, jim- I didn't expect an exact figure. Many months ago, I always argued on these threads, that climate change had always happened and was natural.
However, plastic in the sea, harming animals, etc is obviously entirely manmade- and destroying wildlife affects the environment too...
So I am now only following these threads mostly, and having a reassessment, myself.

I think there's no doubt that Climate Change can happen naturally. Of course, the people who discovered that fact are the very same Climate scientists whose work is signally ignored and trashed as soon as they drag humans into the fray.

There's always scope for reassessment for everybody, too. I am clearly very aggressive right now about defending the consensus, but if new credible evidence comes out to undermine that consensus then I would take it into serious consideration and re-evaluate.

Why are folk so aggressively denying climate change? I understand the scepticism, but the fury it's being rubbished surprises me.

IF there is any chance we are responsible for potentially damaging the planet, shouldn't it be investigated and acted upon? Surely we owe that to our children, and their kids after that?

Wouldn't you rather be revered as the generation that acted rather than the generation that sat back and done nothing?

In fact that is the whole point of science – because Einstein was both a patent clerk and a scientist is that no matter how robust the theory, a single decisive experiment can prove it wrong.

The trouble with those – like Spicerack – who deny the human aspects of climate change, is that they will look at the evidence and ignore it, or even decide that they know better, based on no evidence at all.

Maybe you seek evidence for the political views of Albert Einstein, a Jew brought born in Germany in the early part of the 20th century.

He revoked his German citizenship aged 16, moving to Switwerland. Largely because he – that early – noticed the trends in German politics.

He took up a professorship in Berlin, but before the war moveed to the US and frequently condemned the far-right politics of National Socialism

Spicerack– as always – seeks to re-write history as if the fascist view is the most popular. In this case, as in so much else, he is demonstrably wrong, seeking to twist the writings even of those who deliberately reject Spicerack's warped and twisted view of the world.
