They objected to some free speech event, and some of the speakers there, that the elderly couple were going to, so were using their free speech to bully the elderly couple as part of the protest.

There was a conservative conference going on and in the US Antifa is the militant arm of the Democrats. A bit like momentum here but with knuckle dusters and quick set concrete ‘milkshakes’.
