To be quite Frank Mr aog the way this country and its armed forces have been run down I would worry about a threat from the Isle of Man!!!!
"Obviously you have not lived under the threat from Germany."

How many years have you lived without being under a serious threat from Germany?
Lol retro. I’ve been called a brummie Git, and that was by my wife. Was I offended? Not in the least.
AOG - // Is this really offensive? //

Offence is about intention, and reception.

On this occasion, offence was clearly meant, from the tone of the message, and the phrase used, so yes, I believe it is offensive.
Lol dave. My wife is known as Brummie Mummy by our sons, as she attended Bromsgrove High school for Girls. She wasx actually born in Greenford Middx but moved to Halesowen.

Some lived from 1918 till 1939.
Correct but as you're not one of them, what is your point?

Good god, I'd have been mega offended ( grounds for divorce in my eyes ).
Funny how national nicknames seem to revolve around food. Rosbif, frog, kraut, limey. I never minded being called a rosbif or a Brit and once I'd explained why 'frog' was used to describe them my non-English-speaking French friends thought it was funny. Depends how it's used and who is using it.

That I have lived through one threat from Germany, and others are now living throughout a period before the next threat.

And judging by the way Germany are becoming the master dogs of the EU, one could say we are all now living in a threatening period once again.

Can you point to the similarities between to-day and the events leading to the Third Reich?

Domination of Europe.
Any countries being annexed? Any countries being invaded? Any countries threatened with invasion? Any governmental persecution of minorities? Any wholesale disregard for their own constitution? You get the gist...
