it does seem a little counter-productive, doesn't it? Perhaps some of the escapees will go to Washington to thank their benefactors.
Why would Erdogan care? He's supported IS from the get-go.
The Syrian army might worry him more.
Ultimately tho if there’s one thing Turkey and Syria agree on tho, it’s that they don’t want uppity Kurds asserting themselves.
I hadn’t realised that the animosity between Assad and Erdogan is largely personal: Mrs Assad insulted the Turkish leader in a letter or something, to a third party, after the two families had been socialising together.
And it’s been downhill all the way ever since.
I still would like to know what motivated Trump to leave the way clear for the invasion. As tactical blunders go it’s up there with the best/worst.
Wait for what, retro? What could we do that will harm Turkey in any way, shape or form?
They must of thought their birthdays had come en masse Retro
Not necessarily a case of unilateral action. When one has courted the disapproval of friendly nations life can become less comfortable. Having a go at friendly nations' other friends is high risk.
IS is already up and running again anyway.
Over and above escapees from concentration camps.
Trump planned for this.
In an interview last month, he told European leaders that captured ISIS Fighters would be released and moved to the border. and they would have to be recapture again. It sounded such a dumb thing to threaten, that no one took the threat seriously. By allowing Turkey to attack the Kurds,Trump has fulfilled his promise.

// "I want the countries to take back the captured ISIS fighters," Trump added, noting that many of these captives come from European nations, including Germany and France. "And if they don't take them back, we're going to probably put them at the border, and then they'll have to capture them again." //
