The science of fire fighting? Woii probably primary school. Year 1 aged 5-7. Learning the fire pyramid. Learning why people shut doors and windows. Learning what a fire door is, but more importantly why it should stay closed. Learning what burns and why..
Then secondary school age unknown.. Learning what different fires there from wood, metal, liquid, gas and then electrical.
I then did a fire marshal course, learning all of the above, again, as well as in depth learning on electrical fires and metal fires, not to mention gas fires. I then learned the different classes of fire, the different types of extinguisher, and then the different times you would use which extinguishers. This was followed by a practical.
During the fire marshal course, I was instructed and taught how to evacuate a building and what to do and what not to do.
If I lived in Grenfell whilst it burned to the ground, I would have fought the fire until I felt it would be best to evacuate. I would have then evacuated. If I was on a high story floor, I would have evacuated immediately regardless of what a fire fighter said.
