I don't think it's that at all. He knows that whichever party wins we're not going to get Brexit. I think he's simply acknowledging that the Brexit Party can't possibly win a majority and is therefore ensuring that the vote isn't split, thereby allowing the idiot parties in by the back door Good for him.

In 2017 UKIP lost 337 deposits (89% of the seats it contested) at a cost of £168,000. It lost its deposit in my constituency which was about the only good thing about the result.
I have been desperately looking for a reason to vote because I have no faith in any of the Parties. I now realise I must turn out (and not vote Brexit) to ensure Farage loses another £500 in my area.
