Do those who have a period need extra help or need to take a break more often?
Yes, The Devil, they certainly might need to pop to the ladies more often.

Each woman is different. Some have very heavy and painful periods.
Its not something that everybody needs but I would say from my experience then yes.
I would have preferred a PMT badge x
Interesting.

So, do we feel that those with mental illness should also have special badges for things such as, bipolar disorder or narcolepsy?
I think that's a separate question, TD.
Apologies for my duplicate thread - I've asked Mods to close it.
Zacs-Master - "That's a separate question"

There is no question to begin with. But, I think that implying people may need longer breaks or extra help can be applied to many physical and mental issues such as mental illness or a sprained wrist. They can be just as detrimental in the work place as a period.

If women wish to wear their periods on their sleeve then let them. No one is stopping them currently wearing a badge saying "I am menstruating, please note".
/// Mr Libido, Mr Virginity, Miss Period and Little Miss PMS///
Are these part of Roger Hargreaves collection?
TD you asked if women who are menstruating might need extra consideration and the answer is yes.... I think the difference between menstruation and the problems that you mention is that they are always with the person and the person might always need extra consideration whereas menstruation is not...hence I can understand kind of the idea of a badge. As I understand from the article mentioning menstuation is not the done thing in Japan so the badge idea was to help women who didn't feel that they could openly say to their colleagues or boss that they had got their period....but I have to say that I do think its a foregone conclusion that the public would finds out about it, especially as the badge was a well known manga character.
i still think it's pandering, i would be too wary of wearing one, besides what's to stop men from wearing a badge that says they are stressed or something much worse.
emmie wearing the badge is optional
If you wear the badge, are you unable to complain when someone mentions the fact that you're on your period, and this may be why they are acting, or doing something in a certain way, or taking extra breaks?
Why has sally not been present for the majority of the day?

*Cus she's on her period, look, you can see! She's wearing the badge.
i guess so, but i wouldn't wear one at all.
Good Grief I would never wear anything like that.
Surely it's an option to warn people (particularly annoying customers) to stay away ?
Question Author

O_G it's the previous week that it is best to stay away. I very seldom get upset or angry about anything - but PMS would drive anyone to kill annoying people.

Thankfully that is all in the past.
I don’t think it would help women in the workplace generally to be given extra time or consideration while menstruating. It could make employers more likely to choose men to work for them.
I think it's weird. I'd feel uncomfortable seeing anyone wearing that badge whether I was a customer or a colleague.
