Explain, please, Karl, who the planet would be destroyed in the event of nuclear war. Or do you mean that a large chunk of mankind (and probably lots of other life forms as well) would be destroyed? This silly mantra of "we must save the planet" always makes me chuckle. The planet will survive. Not even mankind in all his stupidity has the ability to turn it to dust or gas. The planet will survive whatever mankind throws at it. But species come and go.

Ellipsis, sadly there appear to be lots of people who don't see the obvious because they have their religious blinkers on and pump out the moral/"democratic" blackmail mantra. An election/referendum is a taking of the pulse, the pulse may/can/will change and a different result emerges - opinions/majorities and resulting policies change (what an heretical thought).

NJ, correct of course but the figure of speech conveys the image of the effective end of life on the planet's surface (although it was at one point said that of all things cockroaches would be among the very few species that might survive) and that figure of speech is understood and widely accepted for what it is.

Incorrect. The proposal was included in the Tory manifesto for the 2015 election. The Bill was introduced by none other than arch-Remainer and the then Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond. Its second reading in the Commons was supported by all parties (including the LibDems) except the SNP and passed by 544 to 53. It passed its final reading by 316 to 53 (with most Labour and LibDem MPs abstaining). It was not and could never have been the decision of one man and MPs of all parties (including the Lib Dems) had adequate opportunity to prevent it.

No it wasn't. The question needed to be asked (as is evident from the answer). The mistake was the pathetic efforts of the May administration in "negotiating" a leaving settlement that meant we remained in all but name.

Parliament voted by five to one to invoke Article 50. They had that opportunity to call it off if they wanted to. And....
Four out of five MPS who were elected to the recently dissolved Parliament in 2017 (the one that failed miserably to implement Brexit) were elected on manifestos of doing precisely that. It was clear during the progress of that Parliament that at least 80% of its members (many from the 80% I mentioned above) had no intention whatsoever of implementing our departure. They were elected on wholly false premises and the electorate is entitled to hold them to account.
It was Parliament's decision to hold the referendum and Parliament's decision to invoke A50. They should have said at each of those junctures that they didn't like the idea. But they didn't. So the electorate is entitled to see their decision fulfilled.

Yet again the over hyping of the LibDems continues apace. The LibDems are not going to get anywhere near getting the Nuclear key, they won’t even get the Key to the Common’s disabled toilet. They will come 4th, a long way behind the SNP.
