Sturgeon, as Deputy First Minister, signed the Edinburgh Agreement in 2012 which set the terms for the 2014 referendum and agreed to respect the result. Obviously she has not done so. I am Scottish and live in Scotland. The atmosphere at the time of the 2014 referendum was intimidating and toxic. I do not wish to go through that again. I voted to stay in the UK and...

I presume with EU handouts, if they are accepted. I presume that they have already negotiated joining the EU. Otherwise surely they are jumping the gun? //// - that must be tempting for the EUSSR, about to lose a net contributor, how keen will they be to take on another state that'll cost them?
//Also, she signed a legal paper before the Indyref stating that it was 'once in a generation' …. errrr kids are reproducing fast up there!//

I think that’s a porkie

She wasn’t even 1st minister then
Why are the Scots so taken in by her?
she talks a big game...
The Scottish government's independence White Paper stated that the referendum was "a rare and precious moment in the history of Scotland"

Must be a different version of 'rare' in Scotland.
ask the people continuously until they give in seems to be the order of the day.
EMMIE, is that what Labour and the Lib Dems want to do with Brexit? If it's okay for Brexit, why are they opposing a second independence referendum?

How long does a rare steak take ?
Same as in England I would imagine, Steg. Not sure what point you're making. I suspect it has something to do with trying to conflate the word rare in a completely irrelevant analogy in an effort to look clever.
because it's totally unnecessary. and even if the PM says yes, what then, Indy ref 2, say they win, does that mean they will be able to join the EU, not in my opinion.
what is odd is they want to be aligned to someone just not England.
could they adopt the Euro, no, they want to keep the pound, so she said a while back, why not if you want to be part of Europe, adopt the currency,
EMMIE, the difference is that it will be the choice of those entitled to vote in the referendum and then, an independent Scottish Government.
EMMIE, other than the UK, are all the other current members using the euro?
New ones probably will have to.
why the hell do they want Independence from England, be allied to 27 other nations, is it about the money, the kudos, what... I have listened to her bang on about this
and i still don't get it. A Scottish Parliament, fine, where does the money come from, does England still bail them out.
NJ is good on this, hope he weighs in again,
most surely....
It was the choice of those entitled to vote in the referendum last time. There was no independent Scottish Government afterwards as it was rejected. And even if Scotland did vote to secede from the UK, the SNP has this fantasy of joining the EU instead, where, were it successful, it won't be independent any longer, and have little or no influence on the EU Commission, but just the ability to vote in some representatives to rubber stamp Commission decisions.

Lol I don’t think I’ve ever tried to “look clever” in all the years I’ve been a member of this site dude, maybe the opposite would be more true
Latest YouGov poll shows only 44% of the Scottish people would vote for independence, meanwhile the BBC host Sarah Smith, attacked the SNP for wasting time arguing about independence when Scotland’s NHS is descending into crisis under Nicola Sturgeon’s watch.
