Should The P M Break With Tradition In This Case? Definitely, the slimy little runt should get nothing. Wonder when Sir Nigel will get his Peerage that Boris Promised him for not opposing him ? As soon as possible I hope.

Well. at least Boris has no doubts that it is more than simply a holiday;
'The Prime Minister will use his Christmas message to express sympathy for Christians "who are facing persecution" around the world.
Boris Johnson will also vow to “defend” their right to religious expression, saying he will aim to “change” the dire predicament of those punished for their faith.
He will say: “Today of all days, I want us to remember those Christians around the world who are facing persecution.
“For them, Christmas Day will be marked in private, in secret, perhaps even in a prison cell.
“As Prime Minister, that’s something I want to change. We stand with Christians everywhere, in solidarity, and will defend your right to practise your faith.”
A Downing Street source said the Prime Minister "wants to look at how we can lead on the issue around the world”.'
Power to his elbow!

For all his obstructiveness, Bercow was not the reason that Brexit didn't go through when he was the Speaker. The obvious reason it failed is because some Tory MPs' failed to support their own PM. That was the cause. The Tories refuse to acknowledge that. Some of the votes were so close that even if a handful of the rebels had supported the govt, Brexit would have been done, despite Bercow, Corby et al. John Bercow has played his part in the rich, political history of this country, whether you were in favour of him or not. Vindictiveness towards him over Brexit is now surfacing, especially from those Tories who wear The Emperors' New Clothes, even now. Should he get a peerage? I don't care, but Johnson seems to me to be the type of person that isn't afraid to show his vindictiveness, and refuse to award a peerage whilst saying he doesn't deserve one because of his handling of Brexit.
Lots of traitors had been given knighthoods. Prior to their treason, of course. And most of them were Tories!
It amazes me how people on here can say the things they do e.g. "slimy little runt"; "odius"; "cretin" and now traitor. I just wonder how much they really know about Bercow? If they read it in the papers and on TV, then it must be true, mustn't it? Gotta be!

10cs: "I also know that the reason for all the delays with Brexit was the failure of some Tory MP's to support their own PM. That is fact and cannot be denied by anyone. " - indeed some Tories did join the VBQC as some labour MPs supported the government. None of the Tories are Tory MPs any more, dunno what Jezza did with his bad eggs.
