I think it likely that nobody in Europe in, say, 1460 had any inkling of the non-Catholic reformation less than 60 years later. I'm too old to hold my breath but in fact there are already signs of stirrings that might eventually (and then in hindsight) come to be seen as the real start of an Islamic reformation.
