£240 million,retro,are you sure?
Oh wow, what a concession. How will they ever cope. Must be terrible for them. My heart bleeds. Profusely. I don't think my hanky will ever dry.
Two less to feed. Nothing wrong with your post chrissa,,,,,,,same outcome. Mr & Mrs it is then .
Not quite Mr and Mrs anne, but Harry Duke of Sussex and Meghan Duchess of Sussex. Did I read once that Sussex didn't want them to have that title?
I can only see this leading to more problems. They’ll have more paparazzi after them now. Diana’s losing her HRH didn’t exactly help her.
Cloverjo I don't think the paparazzi will be chasing them as nobody will be interested to know what they're doing.
He still remains a Prince just not His Royal Highness. When Diana lost hers she was still officially called Diana, Princess of Wales.
I'm glad you said tongue in cheek sanmac, I'm pretty sure that even they cannot afford that property, especially if they have to refund the money spent on Frogmore.
I'm not sure that that is enough. Just them saying they won't use it, that is. It should be properly withdrawn and they should only have the Duke & Duchess of Sussex as titles, i.m.o.. The statement (as far as I have read)does not clarify finances. I await more - but just who will pay for their security? Harry is not short of a bob or 2, to say the least.
They say they will repay the 2.4 million Frogmore bill.
Wonder if we'll ever be told?

They will probably use their Duke and Duchess titles to assist in their aim of becoming financially independent. (wonder if other dukes and duchesses do?)
They are not allowed to use their HRH title and yet they are calling their brand SussexRoyal? That's confusing.
I don't think they'll be allowed to use the word Royal, it's supposed to be one of the forbidden words when it comes to blatantly flogging something because of Royal connections.
Could well be wrong.
They remain members of the Royal Family just not working members as in representing the Queen.

Explained here in bothe the statement from the Queen and one from the Palace.

found it, (it is from NZ though)
Sometimes an organisation does not intend to seek formal Royal patronage, but nevertheless wishes to be granted the title “Royal” as part of its name.

Permission to use the title “Royal” is a mark of Royal favour granted by the Queen. The title “Royal” is subject to the Royal prerogative, and the reasons for a grant or refusal are not disclosed. It should be noted that the title “Royal” is conferred sparingly, and all applicants must satisfy the following general conditions before their application can be considered:

Be non-profit
Have a charitable or scientific status
Be of considerable eminence
Operate on a national scale
These general conditions are of long standing. The grant of the title “Royal” is not, and never has been, a right which can be claimed by a body fulfilling certain criteria.
Well, alba, I guess the makers of Royal Canin dog food are in deep trouble:)
corgi food :-))
Good one:) Anyway, it seems that, according to the Queen, they have lost the right or privilege to use the designation of HRH.
I think a lot of the rules reagrding the use of the word Royal are very outdated, the Palace can't control who uses it now we live in a far more global community.
The Trade Descriptions Act 1968 Section 12 states that,
"If any person, in the course of any trade or business, gives, by whatever means, any
false indication, direct or indirect, that any goods or services supplied by him or any
methods adopted by him are or are of a kind supplied to or approved by Her Majesty
or any member of the Royal Family, he shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, be guilty of an offence".
