meanwhile our hero ( president Trump that is!) is giving the heads of state hell in Davos

The team start off with 'no case to answer' - he can only be impeached on a crime - oo er Mrs, that cant be right can it? and on for another 174 pages. impeachment should not involve witnesses as that bit is over.

as judge judy my fave would say - coulda woulda shoulda....
and it is not a jury - it is the senate and they have elections and voters to think about - juries dont (and take their duties seriously)

Mitch McConnell is a wily old bird (R) because he has reduced the hearing to a farce - probably not up for re election I predict = without any one er noticing.
I wonder if the witnesses will give press conferences instead

Incidentally, cassa, it's becoming increasingly clear that John Bolton, if he were invited to or subpoenaed to speak to the Senate, would make revelations that will at the very least embarrass Trump. Hard to speculate further, but even Trump himself has made clear that he doesn't want Bolton to say anything, and you know what they say about smoke and fire.

Who then would have been brainwashed? For a while Bolton was part of Trump's inner circle and among the closest allies. Then they fell out. It's been suggested that the Ukrainian policy was a large part of that.
