If the longer you are in the "better" criminal you learn to be, or the more insane radical you become, that suggests not that the term should be reduced by half, but that there needs to be a drains up brainstorming period about how to solve that issue while the criminals are there. Probably no easy answer but government needs to address it.
solitary confinement for the most part.
Reasons for a crime can vary quite a lot. Judges should be given the right to bear this in mind and the sentences should be given as with or without remission
"Yes, by 20 police to one Jihadi , imagine the cost of that to the tax payer? " - it's 20 to cover round the clock, not 20 all at once, probably only 2 at a time.
anyway, we should create our own Gitmo and shove the bar stewards on there for life.
TTT ^ a friend and I decided yesterday that this suggestion was the best solution. Where was you suggest?
Would
Lawyers will always find a loop to earn a pay day, or should I say get a pay day, and some couldn't care a toss weather it be for right or wrong.
there are countless British Islands that could be used they'd have to do a bit of analysis of course. Maybe we could sub it out to the septics anyway and send them to the actual gitmo. The point is we must get these loonies out of circulation for ever.
The furthest barren island North in the UK in the coldest waters and strictly terrorist offenders only. And let them sort themselves out!
Apc2604, I'd go with that.
History is littered with examples of religious suppression, and history is littered with examples where it didn't really work out. Going down that route isn't a sensible suggestion.

I don't object to the idea of removing the right to automatic early release (although it's quite reasonable to protest about any law which acts retrospectively). Ditto calls for our own Gitmo -- given the allegations of torture and other general human rights abuses it's simply not a model worth copying.
jim: Who said anything about religious suppression? I'm talking about terrorists, unless you are saying they all come from a common religion?? That would be very prejudicial surely!
I don't think they have earned human rights. They certainly don't believe in human rights.
Here you go, I've used Advocate on all my, cats as well as dogs.

Oops sorry wrong thread.
are you suggesting that advocate can prevent terrorism LB?
@11.41 yep, if they choose to act like wild animals, lets treat them as such, and put them in the wild to kill each other. :0)
What few on here seem to realise is that it is ONLY 'Release on Licence' NOT Full Freedom ! There will be 'conditions' attatched to the release . In cases such as this the conditions will include reporting to a Police Station every day and staying well away from areas and people associated with their past 'terrorist' life ! Any breach of 'conditions' will mean an immediate return to jail and NO second chance!
B J has only ONE reason for his action ! To get himself publicity !!!
Egyptian prison worked on Majid Nawaaz? Perhaps, if we can't sub them out, we could copy their methods. Bet they're cheap, as well.
