The cancers that have affected people in my family is, brain cancer x 2, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, CLL x 2, breast cancer, throat cancer.

If they can find a test that detects all these (and more) would be fantastic. But (there’s always a but) who is going to get tested and when?

Definitely good news. If there is enough basis for trials then it must mean that they are on to something, which will (sooner rather than later in this case if feel) become a much-needed reality.
