I think a part of the no barbecuing/ sunbathing and so on rules is that it takes space away from others. If people are keeping moving they are actually out for less time andf aren't "stealing" time outside from others. If you stop in one place, assuming you have taken your legitimate exercise to get there and will do so to get home, then your sitting/ lying around...

We are (at present at least) able to go out and exercise for an hour. Most probably do more than an hour but who has the stop watch?
You aren’t supposed to get in your car and travel so every and any open space within a reasonable distance is fare game. Especially if you have no garden of your own.
So come on. Where are people supposed to go? When we live so densely packed where do you think all these people on enforced staycations supposed to go?

We've not used our car in a couple of weeks, and because my gym is (obviously) closed, all I can do is go for an early morning hike (if hiking in London is technically possible).
But even if I couldn't go out for a walk, we've got a garden. I feel sorry for those in social housing without outdoor space.

Really unpopular and sure to be denounced (and called an idiot) alert post...
Give it another couple of weeks and then end the lockdown. Personally I’d end it now, but I know that will send people apoplectic.
We must focus on the economy, and as harsh as it sounds, accept that some people will succumb. BUT, the vast vast majority will not. The worldwide mortality rates support the fact the vast majority will not die.
