That said I am sad at the death of Mr Best although I am too young to remember his playing days it brings home the fact that no matter how much we succeed in life there bad things everpresent that we have to stay away from to prevent an untimely end.
The finest footballer of his generation and arguably one of the greatest footballers ever. I saw him playing at every home game at Old Trafford and a good few away games. When he had the ball it was pure exciting heart thumping football. They say all geniuses are flawed in some way. He lived life to the full and not many of us can say that.
I had the privilege of meeting him about 15 years ago. A more generous and gentle man you could not want to meet.
This is a very sad day for me.
As long as the game is played, he will be remembered with fondness by true football fans.
I feel so proud that I was of the time wen I could see him live - on TV okay, but every Sat'day night with him was a feast.
The guy has died, he has died an uncomfy death- who area ny of us to say anything, to criticise? We know nothing. Not even those who think they know because they have suffered too.
He has gone and we are minus one George Best. The media must be really pi$$ed and bernardo, for sympathy questions aren't required.
A little sympathy, please, for someone did something, despite himself.
Now it seems as though he is about to be made into a Saint "Saint George Patron Saint of Alcoholics" He was given a second chance and ****** it up against the wall.
Some poor person with a wife and kids probably died so that george could recieve that liver. what did he do start drinking again! I have no sympathy for him at all. I am sick of hearing about 24 hour drinking and the trouble it will cause, and here we have a famous Alcoholic Glorified and portrayed as some kind of a hero...pathetic crap!!!!!!
He was just a man, why the fuss. It's like the Queen mother, they said the nations most important grand mother. Well, Everybody's grandmother is the most important. Get over it! And spend your emotions on your own family!
George Best kicked a ball for a living. I respect my bin men more. Salt of the earth. They earned it!
