I attract these comments because I oppose racism and discrimination, not because I sympathise with these views.
But I am vocal and oppose those members of the ethnic groups who continuously play the race card, decry our British culture, our flag, and demand preferential treatment, that is, positive discrimination.
Add to that the cry of white privilege, and the existence of black only cliques like the Black Police Officers Association, the Black Lawyers Association etc.
Also white males being discriminated against, for example the BBC and Cheshire Police.

Asian people are more prone to diabetes. Sickle cells anaemia is mostly an affliction among black people. Foetal alcohol syndrome occurs nearly always in children born to impoverished, malnourished and poorly educated mothers.
Then there's the societal aspect of Asian / minority folk who congregate and cohabit in large numbers.
And yes, further to Pasta's previous post, those with higher levels of vitamin D are less susceptible to this awful virus. Darker skinned people absorb less sunlight as their skin has more built in protection to the sun.
Being obese is also a huge risk factor. Without wishing to offend there did seem to be a trend of obesity among the younger female nurses who have succumbed to this virus.
Oh, and being Male puts you at a disadvantage too.

I think everything about covid19 should be investigated. But to say already it is because of (anything) societal inequality at the outset does not bode well for a reasoned investigation.
Scientifically we need to know what specific demographics are affected more than others and how but a campaigner isn’t actually qualified for that. All a campaigner can do is correlate societal statistics and give that to the scientific investigation to see how it fits in.

The article cited by Mushroom has several points of interest, 95% of the doctors who have died have been of an ethnic minority background, yet make up only 44% of the workforce. None of the NHS workforce who have died have been workers on Critical Care, yet this is the area with the perceived heaviest viral load, and where in some areas there have been issues with adequate PPE.
There is so little known about why this disease so adversely affects some groups (including some white families where several members have contracted the virus with catastrophic results) that any research should surely be welcomed.Whether Mrs Lawrence is the right person to head this up remains to be seen
