No. They can track me if they want, we all know it's possible.

Downloading and agreeing to those terms and conditions will me be waving my rights.
It will only work properly when they develop a vaccine, imo.
If you haven't got a smart phone they'll inject you with a chip. ;)
And if you won't have that, they'll give you a quantum dot tattoo with the vaccine.
this app will rely on people being :

Honest -what if you are showing symptoms but are the only breadwinner and need to keep working? You are not going to tell an app you feel ill.

Not a Hypochondriac or attention seeker. You have a sniffle and OMG you've got it!

Have a reliable thermometer to give an accurate temperature reading (try buying any of the good ones they are all out of stock)

Are happy to have all your movements tracked -even when you pop out for a sneaky non essential trip to the corner shop for some beer.

It will not work and is a total waste of time -a distraction from the real issues the government has failed to address, such as getting as many scientists onto testing for the CV-19 anti bodies, and research on immunity once someone has had the disease.

Agree 100%, APG.
The other daft thing is, people will simply leave their phones at home if they don’t want to be tracked.
I'm with Zacs. But I wonder how long we can hold out. They're going to make life more and more difficult for people who don't have the 'voluntary' app.
Or they'll just get a old school phone with no way to track it apart from triangular cell tracking
I only have a Nokia "dumb" phone so no chance of tracking me via an App.
‘ They're going to make life more and more difficult for people who don't have the 'voluntary' app‘

What do you think they’ll do, spicey?
It will fall flat in its face on the Isle of Wight, but will have done its job -that of distraction. Same as the Nightingale hospitals that were never ever going to be even 50% occupancy because they had no staff to run them!
Anal probing Zacs
Ah, that’s OK then. Having been abducted by aliens, I’m used to that.
i won't be able to download it, but would if I could
But when you have to have the App to travel, possibly even enter a shop, you'll have to carry your phone at all times. (or get chipped)
It's started already, hasn't it, 'It should be compulsory'. And that from a conservative.
Whats the success rate in other countries?
spicerack, have you got a link for "it should be compulsory" please?
woofgang, he's quoting TTT on the previous page
Tora said it on P1, woof. But everyone will be saying it in time.
i'm probably naive but i think this time next year we'll be living life as we did pre-virus

Yep no problem as I've got nothing to hide even if it did trace my details. Anything we can do to help eliminate this virus should be done in my opinion if we ever want to get back to a normal way of life.
Surely only the conspiracy theorists would object?
ael I agree, Some think we are heading for a dystopian society, I think we will just stumble back into the 'normal normal' within the next 6 months. I also think a General Election will be not in the too far future.
