LB, the link in the OP said the police had 'voluntarily referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct'. I don't know if the Police Watchdog is another body?
// Tasers, like other electric devices, have been found to ignite flammable materials. For this reason Tasers come with express instructions not to use them where flammable liquids or fumes may be present, such as filling stations and methamphetamine labs. //
Scrotes do do that Roy, especially those delivering/collecting drugs - ordinary family saloon with an ordinary family in it, much less likely to be stopped than a black flashed up BMW with two dudes in shades.
Jus' sayin'...
I'll wait until the investigation where the FULL facts will come out I am sure.
At present though it looks to me like the Police dealt with a threat well. About time plod stood up to law breaking scum.
Lets hope the Courts deal with the man in the same manner. The child has nothing to do with anything. If Police didnt take action because there was a child there every criminal would take a child with them.
Some people on here always say the police, etc should be 'gentler' when restraining suspects.
I reckon if they were being attacked and they had a double-barrel shotgun handy.......
Some people on here have never tried to reason with or restrain a drunk/high reprobate who didn't want to be reasoned with or restrained Spice.
It isn't as easy as the TV makes it out to be.
Also what seems to be going over the heads of some is that the reason Police were equipped with tasers is so that they didn't have to resort to using major force (sticks, batons, guns...) where the risk of real and fatal injury is much greater.
