It's not surprising that all the Tory loving, blue rinse brigade on this site, think that anyone whose opinion is the opposite to theirs, must be left wing anti- British. How dare anyone visit this website and have an opinion that upsets the AB natives. Tut tut.

The sentiment/perception is not uniquely Greek, it is possibly quite widespread - the world's view of the UK is frequently quite different from the UK's view of itself. The man's observation that "It was clear they were about to really mess up" is the mark of a perceptive man. I know a couple who were to be travelling to the UK in March but, with no faith in the UK handling the situation well, changed their plans and went elsewhere - they are avoiding the UK for an indefinite period but have plans for other travel.
There are examples that work both ways. I know someone with a holiday home is in Spain- they'd gone over for a few months but decided to come back here as they saw what was happening in Spain- they found the personal restrictions too much and decided on balance to take the chance here in their rural home
If the "anti-British left-wing rag" is merely describing what other people are saying, why is it claptrap? For example, here is the anti-British left-wing rag, the Telegraph, reporting much the same thing:

Rightly or wrongly, other countries are looking askance at the British approach. It seems reasonable at least to listen to what they have to say.

im still waiting for an answer to a question i asked diddelydodo on another of her obeseesed posts i asked a while back as to how with her claimed superior intellect she would have dealt with this crisis ?....
shes very good at negativity and slating but short of everything else..im sure her hindsight is up to spec though

Well it's clear that Greece have been much more successful but they had some advantages- a population about 15% the size of ours but spread over a massive area including many islands so apart from Athens there isn't as much interaction of people. Greece is also less of an international hub than London or Madrid or New York. But yes they have done well. But they are not the norm- we are not massively out of line with Italy, Spain but compare less well with Germany.
The UK's response may be being criticised but many other countries have not been using the 'all settings' counting approach. The MSM badgered and badgered the Gov. into recording all deaths as a result of Covid in care homes. So now our deaths include all Covid related deaths. Why are the media and public in other countries not baying for the same blood?
