While some of the wealthiest companies in the UK are furloughing hundreds of staff, the Mail decides that Coogan is greedy because 2 members of his staff, who are unable to work because of Social distancing, have been temporarily put on the furlough scheme. They compare him to Phillip Green, who say plundered BHS until it went bust, putting 11,00 out of work and a massive £571m deficit in its pension fund.
The Mail don't like Coogan because he is a retainer and campaigned against illegal phone hacking by grubby tabloids such as Mail.

I think the problem with people like Coogan is that they like to lecture morality but when the chips are down they act like the rest of us.

The other reason is that Coogan was a big supporter of Corbyn and someone who would perhaps be very critical of 'fat cats' furloughing staff at the taxpayers expense.

i wonder if coogan would have furloughed staff had we a labour government with the same policy, he could have paid them out of his own pocket and sent a message of his altruism, and im not a cheapskate... maybe he thinks everyone else is at it, so why not.
