Bobbi thalidomide is still used very carefully in the Uk to control cancer care nausea. if this drug is effective in the older population whose childbearing years are behind them it will be a godsend.

That was so tragic in the 60s, hope that’s never seen again ( thalidomide)
I note Russia is rushing out 60,000 doses to their hospitals. Fair enough. They tweaked it. Is that now a valid indication of their covid cases I wonder?

The thalidomide reference earlier was particularly unhelpful and wrong.
Avifavir Is not recommended for pregnant women, but it is widely used as a HIV treatment.
thalidomide was mentioned in the Mail story because favipiravir has (it says) been linked to birth defects in animals.
The birth defects of this drug are well known, which is why it is not recommended during pregnancy. It has been fully tested, licensed and on sale for 4 years.
