This is the problem that lefty eejits always have. They start off quite reasonably wanting to take down statues of slave traders, but when they've run out of those, they start looking for other things.

People who never had any direct involvement with slave trading but 'failed to denounce it' for example. Bear in mind we're talking about the 18th century, when no-one denounced anything that we might consider denouncable today. So what it will end up with is demands that pretty much every statue in the country is taken down.

not entirely true about the 18th century, tomus; even back in 1772 it was decreed in Somerset's case that there was no basis in common law for slavery, so Somerset's owner (who had bought him in Boston) couldn't ship him out to Jamaica. It was agreed that there was nothing in British statue law permitting it, and there was already an abolitionist movement.

Someone rang LBC to justify the removal of any Winston Churchill statues too on the basis that he was a product of the old upper classes, he said some non-PC things and he was (allegedly) complicit in the gassing of Kurds (maybe true I don't yet know). I'm sure a case could be made for lots of others on that basis (eg Mandela, Gandhi (anti African blacks)

What is is that they want?
Is there proof that black people don’t get good jobs, because I don’t see that, most newsreaders are black or at least an equal proportion appear to be.
There’s talk about the police are more likely to stop a black person than someone who is white, isn’t this because of the many black gangs in London, are there white gangs ? ( a serious question) I personally know of someone who’s operation had been cancelled twice and the reason was ,they have to treat the many stabbings that come in on a regular basis ( London hospital)
