Royfromaus - “You too seem to have omitted why you would have run from these people. Why would you have run?” If you're talking to me (it helps if you make this clear) then my answer would be – I wouldn't have. I would have stood my ground – unless I was specially ordered to gather info only and retreat if confronted. The day I kneel before a baying mob of fascist,...

I honestly don't think that will be the case San because all the other cops will know what their 'terms of engagement' were on that day.
Don't forget that all the Police present were under instructions not to do anything that might antagonise the opposition and many were forced to take one without retaliating.

BLM are an anarcho-fascist, antidemocratic organisation whose aim is to abolish democracy, eliminate the police and usher in the nightmare scenario of anarchic, fascistic, brutalist communist totalitarian regime (but don't take my word for it, check out their website; they're hiding in plain sight).
Lovely.
Just what the world needs. I am “taking the knee” as I write this even though it gives me great discomfort in doing so (due to my dodgy ankle and the height of my keyboard). The pain is worth it though for the satisfaction it gives me in knowing that I'm supporting an organisation with a name that no one can disagree with. I have yet to meet the person who agrees that black lives don't matter. If I ever did meet such a person, I would give them such a withering look that they would remember it for the rest of their lives...
Black lives matter. Of course they do. Albino lives matter too (even though there is still a trade to this day in albino people's flesh [ie. limbs, blood, internal organs, etc.] in certain majority black African countries); as do South Asian lives, Patagonian lives, and... well, here's a radical thought – all lives matter! Crazy! I know.
But here's the rub. Just because an organisation calls itself by a name that no morally grounded person could possibly disagree with does not make the organisation a good thing and nor does it nor should it place said organisation beyond the realms of scrutiny.
Anyone familiar with George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four will know that the various Ministries were deliberately named to be the exact opposite of their namesake. The Ministry of Love, for example, was the Ministry tasked with waging war. The Ministry of Plenty was the Ministry tasked with the distribution of rations.
The name of an organisation, political entity, NGO – whatever it may be – does not necessarily reflect what that particular body stands for. To believe that it does is to reveal yourself to be a gullible, easily manipulated moron.

Those thugs wanted a fight but they also knew they probably wouldn't get one in that situation, as regards the Officers like Shoota said, it did look undignified and self preservation was high on their list of reasons for getting out.
Much better than reading about them being found battered or worse.
