Here’s what should have happened. Firstly, the man shouldn’t’ve laughed at the coppers. When they were pulled over they should have done as instructed by the the police. The woman shouldn’t’ve gone bananas. Had they acted sensibly they would have been on their way within 5 minutes. I was pulled over last Sept because I was driving in SE London at 3am on the way...

Can car windows be called blacked out - isn't that racist?

I'm sure I heard the guy say that they had bought both a BMW and a Mecedes and they knew that both cars were 'liked' by drug-dealers.
If I heard correctly, why on earth would anyone buy a car of the style liked by dodgy folk if you knew the dodgy folk liked that sort of car in the first place?
Question Author
allenlondon I think it's a bit harsh to refer to Ms Williams and her partner as "scum".
Alba, I don't think you should make flip remarks about any innocent use of the word 'black'. And are you really saying that people with enough money shouldn't but nice cars just because villains use them (and so do lots of other people with money).

Well with the revelation that the windows were black, any idea that they were stopped because they were black, is surely out of the window if you'll excuse the pun.
I hope that the windscreen and two front side windows wasn't Blacked out because that would be illegal.

Atheist, it wasn't flippant. Some people (usually on TV) seem to be offended by innocent remarks and take offence when none is inferred.
It's like walking on eggshells these days.
They can buy whatever they like, just don't complain that dodgy people also buy them and use that as an excuse for being stopped.
Alba, you implied that referring to blacked-out windows might be considered racist. Racist by who? Presumably you thought that oversensitive people would think that (e.g. black people or TROB people). You also seem to think that it's wrong to buy a certain model (or price range) of car, because villains sometimes have them. Would you avoid certain brands for such a reason? You may not have intended any harm, but I don't think your attitude is one that I care for. I apologise if I am over-analysing your remarks, but all the same I think they displayed a bit of insensitivity.
The fuller video (not Linford's edited video) does Bianca Williams no favours.

What do you see, royfromaus, that no-one else sees?

It’slike the Emperor’s New Clothes, except you’re the one who can’t see the geezer’s naked.
Why was an edited video used little alan?

I don't expect an honest opinion from a marxist...you're conditioned in your thinking.
Atheist. I apologise if you thought I was displaying insensitivity.
That was not my intent, the typed word is open to interpretation when one cannot hear any nuance from the writer (and in my case, the poor use of vocabulary)
I cannot read the link from The Times unless I "Give my consent." Why is it that when I attempt to click onto links to most British newspapers I get this type of message?
Having watched the longer video, I'm not entirely sure the baby-chair was buckled up.

They were dragged out of the car immediately and handcuffed even though they were completely innocent.
Detained for 45 minutes while their child was crying in the back seat. Then charged with nothing.
You have to at least acknowledge it was a mistake
That's what happens when you refuse to cooperate with the police.
To cut a Long story short.
The police detained an innocent couple for 45 minutes based on suspicions that were 100% wrong.
They forcibly dragged them out of their car on the false accusation they smelled cannabis.
4 offices wasted 3 hours of police time, falsely detained the British athletes and offered no apology for their false detainment, and shoddy treatment. The Police justified the stop and harassment as standard and normal. No wonder the Met have so little respect from the general public.
I don't think there will be any suing of the police.

The long story will not be allowed to be cut short.
Doesn't do the cop with the baton any good either if he was prepared to smash the window with a baby on board.
And, having watched your link 4 or 5 times - pausing when necessary - Roy, I find it impossible to say whether or not the baby seat is secured or not.
royfromaus
Do you not?
They were wholly innocent. The police suspicions for stopping them totally unfounded and bogus. Their treatment once stopped was beyond reasonable - handcuffed and detained for 45 minutes, denied access to their crying child on the back seat - and they had broken no laws, were innocent and never charge with any crime whatsoever.
They were livid about their terrible treatment, and if I was stopped under such trumped up charges. I would be angry a hell too.
They were asked to pull over
They said it wasn't safe to pull over so carried on because they were near their house.
They said they pulled over 20 seconds later.
Did you see how far the gap between the police van and their car had become in that 20 seconds?
You could hear the rapid gear changes and acceleration.
Also what about the hard right turn?

These are not rational actions when the police ask you to pull over.
Why was he laughing in the unedited video?
