Here’s what should have happened. Firstly, the man shouldn’t’ve laughed at the coppers. When they were pulled over they should have done as instructed by the the police. The woman shouldn’t’ve gone bananas. Had they acted sensibly they would have been on their way within 5 minutes. I was pulled over last Sept because I was driving in SE London at 3am on the way...

Gromit is using hyperbolic language to eke out a wrong stance.
The two people were the authors of the situation they found themselves in - had they acted reasonably, as the vast majority of people would, the situation would not have escalated as it did.
The man was laughing as he pulled up - he was laughing at a policeman undertaking his job, and other than comedians, that would irritate anybody undertaking their job.
The woman then went into screaming banshee-mode which escalated it further; the WPC was heard saying to her something along the lines of ‘it doesn’t have to be this way’.
Gromit states they had been pulled over 15 times as though it is fact; presumably the two people concerned mentioned that number - why should we believe them?
I’ve no sympathy; had they acted reasonably, so would the police.

They’ve done marvellously well by getting an apology - even though none was warranted, and it’s disappointing the higher echelons of the police have bowed under the spotlight thrown on this by the two people who caused their own misfortune and the media.
They’ve got a get out of jail free card now; they’re pretty untouchable and I doubt will get pulled over again in that car.

They were completely innocent. No guns or knives or whatever else the Police had them down for having were found in the car.
The Home Office have obviously leaned on Dick and the Met because the case was very embarrassing to the Government, and they want the incident to be defused and tomorrows chip paper.
But I am sure you will all keep banging your heads against the wall because apologising to ethnic minorities makes you want to vomit.

well initially they said they had reviewed the body cam viddie and decided nothing really had happened

and since there were no charges there would be no bar to disclosure
if you look at the internet the police body cams are not going flashy flashy which may mean they - - werent turned on ....
so the only video is passerby and police car dash cam

To be honest, I had never hear of this Great Britain Athlete or her Portuguese boyfriend before this story broke. But if it was someone I did know, Sebastian Coe and Eusebio in the car, the fact that the Police mishandled the situation doesn’t go away. Now the Met have apologised so that goes a little way to dampening down the fury. Unless you have a right wing agenda to hammer into the wrong shaped hole.
