Well, tomus, since there is no-one else to shop for me, I will have to continue to do it for myself and I will not wear a mask in simple protest. It's all been OK here, people space etc. and I have felt perfectly safe shopping - very low incidence rate. Ordering on line is not possible - no slots and I wouldn't do it anyway, you can't be sure of the quality and I've seen the way assistants chuck soft fruit etc. into trolleys. Besides, I can't buy rat-poison in the supermkt., or many other things. If it was OK before to distance oneself then it is, surely, OK now.
OH will not be able to go out to a shop on his own if everyone wears masks. Any idea how that makes someone feel? I would have to go with him and I would have to remove my mask to speak to him. You are talking rot.
Perhaps we should wear some sort of badge to explain that we are elderly and need to not wear masks (I have asthma and I've tried masks and they do not do me any good)? Here's an idea - a nice bright, easily recognisable badge to say we need special treatment ---- how about a yellow star sewn onto the sleeve? That should do it.
