Looks like the first thing Mr Lewis is about to do in his new role, is to release a sensitive report, into Russian Interference in British Politics .This report had been blocked by the Goverment before the last G/E.

The report was completed in March 2019, but then went through a process of redaction (cutting all the good bits out). Boris got the report in October 2019. Normally, a report would be published shortly after that. But Boris called a General Election and the Committee was disbanded. 8 months later, we now have a new Committee, so there is nothing preventing publication, except Boris dragging his feet for some reason.

I doubt there will be anything much in the report. They will say Russia used social media to feed propaganda to people in the UK, but that it didn’t influence the referendum result.

Checked several references to Julian Lewis's biography but found no mention of him being a GP.He does have a university doctorate so that is probably why he insists on being referred to as Dr.

No he’s definitely not a GP or any sort of medical man.
In fact you’ve only got to hear him speak to see that he’s hardly the family doctor type ;-)

As regards him being from the same eurosceptic stable as the PM, I’d say that’s not really accurate. He’s a long standing Brexit supporter. Whereas Johnson might be a long standing eurosceptic, with his dubious Spectator articles, but he was very much a last-minute convert to the Brexit cause.
