Face Masks In Shops
123 Answers
Went into a Kingston on Thames newsagent yesterday, man in front of me didn’t have a mask, lady behind me didn’t have a mask. Guy behind counter had one, as did I, but he didn’t say a word to them. There is a police station across the road, six police sitting in a van outside. Nothing done.

The main library was blocked off but there were some shelves containing DVDs for hire on a shelf near the exit. As I was having my library card scanned, I picked up a DVD that I spotted and took that as well. Today, when I returned the DVD, I wasn`t allowed to pick up another DVD because I was told "You can't browse" by the woman who was manning the door (who I then had to pass within about 1.5 ft to get out of the place). No wonder people are getting *** off about shopping on the high street and in my opinion, it's the bloody women who are dictating to people what they can and can't do. What's wrong with them? I have had no problem with men.
//…or (b) post on AB Social Media moaning about or finding flaws (of which there are of course some) To me (b) seems pointless as it won't change anything but if it's a form of therapy for some, good luck to them.//
It’s not just a matter of therapy. There is no doubt in my mind that the measure to enforce face coverings in shops was largely driven by manic reactions seen on social media. Since the government seems to be driven by social media opinion they need to see some views that are opposed to those of the maskvists.
//In the main people just get on with things for the common good or to be seen to be supporting others.//
The problem is, this “common good” that is spoken of does not seem to extend to me or anybody else wearing a face covering. Last week I mentioned that I had received very clear advice from a senior health professional relative of mine who gave me definitive reasons why she will not wear a mask beyond her hospital and why she has advised her husband and children not to do so either. Her advice is of far more value to me than any half-baked instructions from government which seem to have no basis and no balanced evidence. I am quite satisfied that the increased risk to me is far greater than the minimal decreased risk I provide to others and my contribution to the “greater good” does not stretch that far.

ilm I honestly have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I really think you must have me mixed up with someone else? Is it possible? I am really really intrigued by who has been abusing pensioners though. This website is mainly populated by pensioners as far as I can see and I can't see people tolerating pensioner abuse.
Let me get this straight you are saying it's perfectly ok for you to call people morons but not for the same epithet to be extended to you under the same circumstances. I truly can see the difference between what you give out and what you got back
