i wonder how many restaurants will be left by this time next year.
Are cafe's and restaurants ok with this considering many are booking a few into their establishments. so their revenue is already shot to pieces.
is there any kind of a link to this story SK
cheers
Thanks for that info -just found out our local village pub is in the scheme so will be booking in for a meal in the beer garden next week. Cheers!
i guess some customers are better than none.
I've just checked my local area and I'm quite surprised at the lack of take up by the restaurants. They can't start moaning that they have no customers when there is a scheme that should benefit them with zero cost.
Presumably the obese can ride their government funded bikes to these restaurants and stuff themselves with government funded half price food. Seriously you could not make it up!

Your latest comment puts you in that category.
APG //Presumably the obese can ride their government funded bikes//
I doubt that the obese are capable of riding a bike.

No it does'nt lol! I'm not obese and don't ride a bike -I'll be walking the mile down to the pub and the mile back - or if its wet may go in my sports car Ha Ha
Danny //I doubt that the obese are capable of riding a bike.//
Well Boris does lol!
Also its his idea of fighting obesity -get everyone riding bikes!
Looking at my local "restaurants" (for example, KFC!), this scheme announced a couple of weeks ago does seem to go directly against the latest anti-obesity crackdown.
APG, Boris is not obese.

Yes he is:

"Aged 55, Boris Johnson weighed in at 17 stone and 7 lbs when he was admitted at St Thomas' with coronavirus.
At 5ft 9inches his BMI according to the NHS calculator, if we say he's exercising for up to 60 minutes a week, is 36.2, classing him as obese.
The NHS says that a man his age and height should be aiming to weigh between 8st 13lb and 12st 1lb.

If it's true that he's shed a stone since his April 12 discharge, his BMI will now be around 34.2.

Adults with a BMI over 30 are classed as obese."

We were out yesterday at a local who's meals were 50% off, I wasn't hungry as I'd had something before I went out but my friend got a huge platter ,scampi, chicken goujons, cheese croquettes , cheesy garlic bread , natchos , all for £4 with a variety of sauces, I helped her by picking, haha
BMI means nothing.
my grandson was very dissapointed as he was going to nandos to get their deal but he said this morning it only applied to certain ones mainly up north .

And I understand that a huge "study" is to take place to try to find out why people are overweight.
