This is exactly why I won't be travelling until this madness is over. Why are these eejits so desperate do visit another country? Now it's a field day for the travel companies who can charge what they like. This was always bound to happen.

It really baffles me why people need to holiday abroad this year, it's only one year, why can't they just wait until next year when hopefully things will be much better ? And yes, I know, we are all fed up with lockdown and all the many restrictions that have been placed on all of us, but again, what is wrong with doing without for just this one year ?
OK, lets have a look at this, you paddle your lilo from France, you bypass Dover and paddle up the coast past St Margaret's, Deal then into the Estuary for Sandwich Bay, probably putting an extra 10 miles
or so one your journey, and of course you get the pesky Sandwich Bay
Security people chasing you to sell you a £75 annual pass.
The UK has had it's hottest summer for years , wall to wall sunshine , and still the Brits try to escape to the E/U Countries for their Holidays. What more could a True Brit wish for, than a couple of weeks at Blackpool, Rhyl , Weston Super , Clacton , or Whitley Bay, even Butlins. Better get used to it.
I agree TTT
hi sweetie - good day so far ?
re clamping down quarantine isnt exactly unconceivable
My first q if I went on Holiday abroad would NOT be
can you buy petrol in France ( yes actually)
but - - will they let me back ? ( no probably )
therefore dont go
BUT
the companies may well be saying - if you dont turn up - you will lose everything

some people do holiday in the UK and have for years, and had expected an opportunity to do the same this year. sadly the UK accommodation operators have cottoned on to this years mad dash for staycations, and are cancelling previously made bookings in favour of higher priced new ones.
Why are the Brits dashing to escape from UK ? partly because the homegrown holiday operators are a bunch of rip-off merchants.

I’ll tell you why I can’t wait to go abroad.
It’s because I have a holiday home in Spain that has lain empty since 2019. I am anxious to get back to air out the property, ensure it has not been taken over by squatters, vandalised or damaged by earthquake or rainstorms etc. Keen to sweep out any dead (or live)! cockroaches, ants etc and dispose of “long life” food items that we keep in storage to provide a “just arrived meal”.
