I've said it before, save your summer holiday abroad for next year and have a blast then. Doesn't go down too well amongst some though!

People have worked hard for, and deserve their holidays abroad.....apparently.

yes jack but this is an unusual year, they *** off to wherever then blame the government when they have to quarantine.
I am simply providing their usual argument......not endorsing it.

that's my plan marge! I'm off work for a fortnight soon for a staycation.
I`m an inveterate traveller but wont be thinking about going outside the country until a semblance of order is restored. I enjoy seeing great scenery, sampling different food and drink and meeting nice people.
I would be careful of assuming ‘ next year’ will be much better .

Agreed AA

I wouldn't be making any plans until I know things are better and safer. I shall stay UK based.
We have a Christmas Cruise booked, Germany, and I really do not want to go. The company haven't cancelled it yet. I do hope they do.
Some people have saved hard for their holiday and if the holiday isn't cancelled by the tourist operator they lose their money.
Just as a matter of interest, when these folk get back from wherever, which was apparently fine when they left but not now, where do the government house them to quarantine ?
Question Author
they are supposed to do it themselves, yeah I know!
And what about the other people living in the same house?

Suddenly the idea of going on holiday is even more appealing.
Thank you for BA TTT.
A staycation sounds a good idea TTT, you'll be glad to get away from work.
I’ve ne we understood why they don’t just test people returning.
That apparently is the plan.
But for whatever reason it’s not yet been implemented
Another Imbie post.
10 .51 , can you give me the dates please.
I can think of a few reasons TTT.

They may have booked their holiday before Covid was even a thing, and if the Govt is still allowing travel, and their travel company hasn't cancelled, then it's a case of use it or lose it (if you'd spent, e.g, £5k on a holiday, would you not go? I know damn well I would go).

They may go to escape Covid! There's plenty of places that are significantly safer than the UK, and the UK is very bloody safe from the risk of dying from Covid to the point of statistically irrelevant now.

They may have booked their holiday when the Govt opened the air bridges - by dint of which the Govt were saying it's fine to go on holiday.

There you go, there's three perfectly legitimate, and in no way desperate, reasons for you to consider.

Tumbleweed.....
