The countries of Europe are rapidly catching us up in deaths, we had only 6 die on Wednesday, heading to zero by next week methinks.

Will we not be in danger of having a corresponding second wave, then?

It's not a competition TTT. You seem to be gloating. I would agree that we are now handling things better than those countries who initially seemed to manage better than us. But things can change and that now depends on the people rather than the government.

yes apc but we've had months of the Anti British waxing lyrical about those over the channel and denigrating everything we do here. This is now looking like the boot's on the other foot. Now where is gromit?
I agree that there has been a lot of real nastiness from some quarters including the media about the way the UK handled things. More anti Government than anti British in my opinion. It carried over from the Brexit nastiness.
At the risk of being cated off to the Tower for high treason (!), the article doesn't mention deaths.
It's good that the number of deaths has fallen dramatically, althogh I did also wonder if that had something to do with the new way of counting them.
I'd expect the number of deaths Europe-wide to remain low, as most of the recent cases seem to be affecting younger, people, with better treatment for acute cases, and the fact perhaps that for now the vast majority of those who were going to die of it may already have done so.

ich it says there is a surge, that = deaths, geddit?
TTT a surge in the number of cases being infected does not equal death.
OOps ,that one got home.
If you are referring to a removed post (which i didn't see) is was probably for the "pure stupidity" reason again, gulliver
^...IT was probably...
The EU's own set of stats. I tend not to trust them anyway.

“ich it says there is a surge, that = deaths, geddit?”

Does it? It says cases

did they do arthmetic in your school? more people with the disease means more will die from it, end of!
You said : “ The countries of Europe are rapidly catching us up in deaths”

That isn’t backed up by the link you posted nor by the stats I see.
The good news is that our deaths are down. Anything else sounds a bit unsavoury. It’s not the Eurovirus Death Contest.
I’m not sure I’d call they - either here or anywhere else, a second wave exactly. More a continuation of the first.
As long as there’s a virus around and it’s not been eliminated then cases are bound to rise once restrictions are eased. We need to live with that really - I don’t mean do nothing, but accept that it isn’t going away
Question Author
well sometimes ich you need to extrapolate, the figures are about to start catching us up, ok? France has nearly 5000 new cases in the last 24 hours, if only 1% die that's 50 dead, v our 6 on Wednesday thus they catch us up by 44, see that's known as "arithmetic" they used to teach it in schools.
