I loved him as DS Hathaway, but he seems to have gone a bit weird.
With his own political party promoting a rather confused set of ideas.

No. Why would anyone pay heed to a racist unless they were a racist themselves.
This has attracted some comment already.

I won't follow anyone but make my own decision as and when.

He is not a racist.

I have boycotted Sainsbuys for year. No real difficulty they are too expensive anyway.

How is he a racist?
only an issue for 16% of supermarket shoppers . . .

Me boycotting Sainsburys would make absolutely no difference, as I never use them. Like ymf, I find them far too expensive.
Yep, too dear anyway. They have all the same stuff in many other outlets far cheaper, frankly I am amazed they still in business.
I would not boycott them because their advertising gurus have a strange idea of what messages will appeal to their core customer base - which is not woke students.
I probably won't boycott Sainsbury's, but I like Laurence Fox and don't think he is in the least bit weird. I agree with him about Sainsbury's though and heaven help them if they try to push their so called ideals down my throat when I shop in there!!!
I am a little dumbfounded about his description of Sainsburys as supporting racial segregation though.

"The supermarket says it's aim is to be 'the most inclusive retailer' where 'every single one of our colleagues feels safe and supported at work'."

Seems to support the exact opposite of that. I can't help but wonder if he's just attacking wokeness wherever he may find it. Maybe he's trying to set himself up as a Nigel Farage for the 2020s. Must be something about the name "Fox" that points one to the right.
all this palava started in america with blm, and what a nasty import they are...marxist anti democratic rabble, britain is not america.

Our local Sainsbury’s had a sign promoting LGBT awareness for weeks and it didn’t seem to cause any alarm or comment in an area which is not exactly “trendy”
As for price, the supermarket is a bit more expensive than Tesco or ASDA: boycotting it for that reason nonetheless seems more understandable than Mr Fox’s reason.
He does appear to have a bee in his bonnet and the party manifesto he has drawn up rather confirms that, although I guess that is the reason people form such parties.
//all this palava started in america with blm, and what a nasty import they are...marxist anti democratic rabble, britain is not america.//

There's a lot of difference between BLM's militant activities and a supermarket saying everyone is welcome here.
I’m not following him or anyone but I’m not surprised he’s said this. I decided not to shop there again when I read that they are providing a ‘safe space’ for BAME people. Safe from what? The rest of us? I regard that as an insult.

If they provide a safe space at all, a safe space for all of us from the nonsense of the politics of the ‘woke’ would be most welcome. I’m thoroughly fed up with all of it.

Just sell what you sell, Sainsbury's, and leave the politics to the politicians.
//Safe from what? The rest of us? I regard that as an insult.//

Safe from those of us with racist attitudes I assume. Personally, I find no insult in this, as I don't have such beliefs.
//If they provide a safe space at all, a safe space for all of us from the nonsense of the politics of the ‘woke’ would be most welcome. I’m thoroughly fed up with all of it.//

Then it's less "leave politics to the politicians", and more "adopt the politics I believe in".
13:40 agree 100%.
Mozz, that sounds like a veiled insult. Is it?
Quite happy for Sainsburys to be largely owned by the House of Thani, but one mention of BAME gets all the racists crawling out of the woodwork.
Couldnt agree more Naomi.

"Safe from those of us with racist attitudes I assume."

Soi where are the safe spaces for white people then? Plenty of BAME people are racists you know, it is certainly not a one way street.
