Public Sector Pay Freeze
You couldn't make it up could you? Yesterday the government pledged to splurge billions on machines of war and today it's freezing the pay of those people we need most.

But sorry to nitpick but the goverment hasnt said it will freeze pay tho. What Rickie Shunak said was "interest of fairness we must exercise restraint in future public sector pay awards, ensuring that across this year and the spending review period, public sector pay levels retain parity with the private sector".
Sounds fair enough. Many of us in the private sector have lost jobs or been furlough'd on 80% (not me true) whereas the public sector workers got 100% and some like teachers had a lot of time off on full pay.
No. a don't want a freeze and certainly not on are NHS staff but agree with Mr Shunak about restraint

I don't know where you got the idea from that teachers "had a lot of time off on full pay" - they emphatically did not! They were working harder than ever when schools were shut - delivering lessons online, setting up work so that children could learn from home etc etc. It was very stressful for them and continues to be so now that schools are back and trying to make education Covid safe.
Are neices and nephews schools the teachers took turns and the classes didnt get work everyday. A freind is a primary school teacher and just did two days a week on full times pay. She said most students didnt do the set work anyway.
But its only my experiance. If you know better fair enough. A know teachers are working hard now as there teaching kids at school and at home and have to keep catching up on missed lesson's.

Anyway a see you changed the subject to avoid the point your posts claim was false //Yesterday the government pledged to splurge billions on machines of war and today it's freezing the pay of those people we need most.//
You says //You couldn't make it up could you?//. Well look's like you just did. LOL LOL LOL

//I suggest you read the article properly rather than accuse me of scaremongering. //
OK a read it again. Still cant see where the goverment has said it will freeze pay. Just a refrence to a rightwing thinktank CPS which as suggested it, just as am sure union think tanks have suggested pay increases to attract more staff.
If you can find an actual sentence or paragrath tho to support your claim please post it and am happy to read it and comment.
