Wow. Twitter have just suspended Trump's account for 12 hours. He's gonna go stir crazy not being able to tweet!
It could escalate further. Most predicted back in November that he would not go quietly and he still has a few more days left to rile his mobs even more. If he still doesn't accept Biden's win and still won't concede, who knows which direction this will go in. He still has millions of supporters that hang on his every word and can't see him for what he really is.
He's not going to go crazy. You cannot go to a destination at which you have already arrived.
Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him?
don't beat yourself up, jackdaw. I never liked him but there's no doubt that over the last couple of months he's turned the craziness dial up to 11.
well the capitol
has said - now where were we ?
and is going to continue
but will they do 6 objections?
perhaps one or perhaps none
I know JD is not being serious, but all the same, it seems worth stressing that assassination is never the solution. There are lawful mechanisms that can, should, and really must be exercised to hold Trump to account for his actions, both today and other the last few months.
Its been reported that the woman who was shot has now died.

Jim360: Don't be overly reasonable. A bullet for the mad dog sounds a reasonable response to me!
Jim is right, of course. Violent removal of leaders creates more problems that it solves: cf. Saddam and Gaddafi.
I'd be happy if he was just locked up (and mouth zipped up).
If it's bad now, imagine what it'll be like when it comes to Biden's inauguration? It could end up as a massacre.
(Soon-to-be-ex) Senator Loeffler was intending to object to the Electoral College certification process. She just backed down. She was one of Trump's strongest backers, right up until this morning (partly because of the election in Georgia), one of the strongest voices for the idea that the election was rigged.

It shouldn't have taken these protests to force Republicans to blink, but I'm relieved that they are finally, at the last minute, recognising the folly of this path.
The damage Trump has done to the Republican cause is untold. They could be out of power for decades, giving free rein to the Democrats. Only when Trump becomes a distant memory will they have a chance of regaining office.
For quite a while before Trump the Republicans courted the crazy far right to gain power. The Tea Party movement were testing the waters that Trump tapped into later. I think it is fair to say the Republican Party has done the Republican Party a lot of damage, not just one man.
The Republican Party could have reined in Trump when he lost the election, but they were as crazy, and just as culpable as he is.
The real Republican Party need to get their Party back from this mafia.
I don't agree that trumo has dialed up the crazy in the last few months... he is the same person now that he was 4 years ago and it was obvious then.
BBC says the death toll has risen to 4.
I agree untitled. Trump is exactly the same as he has obviously been for the last four years. All that's changed to lead to the present situation is the circumstances - ie he just lost an election.
Precisely tomus.

Jackdaw

Trump has not just damaged the "Republican cause" (whatever that might be?) he has damaged the integrity of american democracy and he has been at it far longer than this.
