Curfew starts shortly...
I doubt there was anything in their training manuals about dealing with demented Republicans. There seldom is.
// Is a President above the law?//
yes no
we have had this a few times
no he is not above the law
BUT he has something called executive privilege which gives him immunity from suit
[paignton I know poo-poos all this legal clag]

and so it boils down to he has to be proceeded against by impeachment.

and I agree this is a very long answer for AB
no probs, PP, he deserves a long sentence...
Pence is nearly as despicable as trump. He has spouted lies for 4 years ( this god fearing man he portrays himself to be ) Although, if ever * nodding * becomes a sport, he will win .
I despise Pence mainly for his politics and his silence. But at least he has respect for the Constitution.

I despise Trump for far more than his politics. I hope that his supporters on AB finally wake up to see him for who he is, a criminal, a bully, and a wannabe mobster, who should never have been let near the keys of office.
Would this be the wrong time and thread to mention water cannon again?
We couldn’t lend them any.Mother Teresa said they couldn’t be used, thus London’s were sold for scrap.
has toratoratora been stunned into silence?
Hope so .
It would seem so...it's unusually quiet in that quarter.
TTT has not been on AB since the afternoon. Let's see what he says about it tomorrow.
I can't find the post now, but I forecast Trump would start the Second American Civil War ages ago. Sadly I appear to be right - it doesn't give me any satisfaction, only sorrow that such a previously great nation should sink so low.

TanTrump has been rabble-rousing for weeks now, and this is the inevitable outcome.

Why are you right?
I didn't say I was right, I said "appear to be" which is quite different.
Civil War? This hardly resembles Gettysburg.
The US is certainly more fragile since Trump took over. I'd say we are a bit far off civil war just yet but in a place where where violence is becoming viewed by some as a legitimate political tool, and agitators have access to arms there is a genuine chance of escalation.
It was a disgrace, but I don't think it's a harbinger of civil war. Trump deserves every condemnation regardless. If you lie, again and again, that the election has been stolen, if you tell people to march to the Capitol to get it back, then you are complicit in the violence that followed.
And yet people on social media are still sticking up for him!
The scales have really dropped from my eyes over the past two months. The fact that I was once a Trump supporter will be a matter of lasting shame to me.
