This is all getting very nasty and troubling. Vaccine programmes shouldn't become a competition between countries, because in practice we need the EU (and everywhere else) to be just as well-protected from Covid as we are.

As far as I'm aware, we didn't start this, except in a token sense by mass-ordering and approving the vaccine earlier than many. If we have an excess and the EU has a deficit, we should offer our extra share, but I'm not impressed by the EU "demanding" it.
